About ADA-MP1
|
|
|
This mailing list provides a forum for guitarists who are interested in the ADA MP-1 preamplifier, and other closely related ADA gear, such as the ADA MP-1 Classic, ADA MP-2, ADA Quad Tube, ADA Microcab, and ADA power amplifiers. Repair help questions are welcome, of course, as are technical debates about modifications. Commercial topics (for sale, repair/mod services) are also welcome.
To see the collection of prior postings to the list,
visit the ADA-MP1
Archives.
Interesting files related to the ADA MP-1 and other ADA
gear are located in the file area.

How a mailing list works
|
Mailing lists existed long before web forums, are easier and more
convenient to use, and can present a web-forum-like interface
via their web archive. Here is how they work in a nutshell:
- A mailing list is nothing more than a robot which has
its own e-mail address. This e-mail address is the
mailing list address.
- The robot maintains a contact list of e-mail
addresses and names, who are understood to be the
subscribers of the mailing list.
- When the robot receives an e-mail, it sends a copy of
that e-mail to each of the subscribers of the mailing
list, taking care not to send to to those subscribers
who are already listed as To: or Cc: recipients.
- The e-mail appears to come from the original sender,
with the mailing list address being added to the
CC: list. It is possible to reply privately to
the sender using your e-mail program's reply,
or to reply to the mailing list by using
reply-all which keeps the robot in the conversation
loop, thereby reaching everyone on the list.
- Not all list traffic goes through the robot. Replies
go directly to the people in the To: and Cc: list.
- In addition to redistributing the mails that it receives,
the mailing list robot also maintains an archive of
messages, and creates a web site where past messages
can be searched and viewed
- The robot has a few other e-mail addresses, including
one where it can receive commands from users, via e-mail,
to subscribe or unsubscribe. The robot also has a web
interface for subscription management.
